This section contains an Irish flute and whistle discography, divided into several pages.

The discography was initiated by Michael Anthony, who has provided much of the content. Early versions of this discography first appeared on the Irish Traditional Music List (IRTRAD-L). Updates are made by myself and there are now over 150 different entries relating to solo, duet or trio recordings featuring Irish flute playing. Please note that the discography does not feature band recordings as such, but where a flute player with a band has an entry, the band is referenced.

In order to help with the upkeep of this list, there is a submissions page for anyone wishing to inform us of an omission or a new release. The addition of a web link category is a recognition of the growing numbers of artists who are selling or advertising their music directly over the internet or have limited distribution.

Thanks are due to the subscribers to woodenflute, who provided useful feedback on the content and layout of the forms page.

The key to the abbreviations used now appears on a seperate page.

Please note that this discography is for reference only and orders cannot be made here for any of these recordings. A number of reputable specialist outlets are included on the links page, but others are available. If you are new to buying traditional music online, Larry Sanger has written some useful guidelines here (external link).
